Job Description: E-commerce Data Science Manager
Position Overview:
The E-commerce Data Science Manager is responsible for leading and managing the data science initiatives within the E-commerce department. This role requires a deep understanding of data analytics, predictive modeling, and machine learning techniques. The E-commerce Data Science Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive data-driven decision-making, optimize sales performance, and enhance the overall customer experience.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Utilize statistical analysis and machine learning algorithms to extract insights from large datasets and drive strategic decision-making within the E-commerce department.
2. Develop and implement predictive models to forecast customer behavior, demand patterns, sales trends, and inventory optimization.
3. Lead the design and execution of A/B tests and experiments to evaluate the impact of various strategies on key performance metrics.
4. Collaborate with the IT team to ensure proper data collection and storage, implement data quality checks, and maintain data integrity.
5. Work closely with stakeholders to identify business requirements and translate them into data-driven solutions, providing actionable recommendations.
6. Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to sales, customer acquisition, retention, and conversion rates, and identify areas for improvement.
7. Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in data science, predictive modeling, and machine learning techniques, and evaluate their potential application in the E-commerce domain.
8. Lead a team of data scientists, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to enhance their skills and drive high-quality deliverables.
9. Collaborate with other teams such as Marketing, Product Management, and Operations to ensure alignment of data science initiatives with overall business goals.
10. Prepare and present reports, dashboards, and insights to senior management, communicating complex data findings in a clear and concise manner.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
2. Proven experience (X years) working in a data science role, preferably within the E-commerce or Retail industry.
3. Strong proficiency in statistical analysis, predictive modeling, and machine learning techniques.
4. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R for data analysis and modeling.
5. Experience with data visualization tools and techniques to communicate complex findings effectively.
6. Solid understanding of SQL and database management systems for data extraction and manipulation.
7. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into data-driven solutions.
8. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
9. Proven leadership skills, with the ability to guide and mentor a team of data scientists.
